Profile

Senior software engineer and founder with a physics (astrophysics) background. I build reliable, high-performance platforms using Go, AWS, PostgreSQL, Laravel, Vue and Inertia. I work best where backend engineering, architecture, data modelling and product understanding overlap: turning ambiguous requirements into clear domain models, scalable APIs, tested services and usable product flows. Backend is my core strength, but I regularly work across frontend, planning, requirements and UX/UI decisions to deliver end-to-end outcomes.

Experience

Senior Software Engineer, Go Green Ltd

Oct 2024 – Present

London · Remote

  • First engineer to adopt a full-stack role on the team, contributing across Go backend services, frontend delivery, product requirements and technical architecture.
  • Helped build a new platform supporting UK and Ireland-based resources, replacing legacy workflows with a faster, more maintainable and cheaper-to-run system.
  • Designed and challenged core PostgreSQL data models for pricing, invoicing, disputes, supplier products and operational reporting.
  • Built and reviewed Go APIs and AWS serverless components with attention to context propagation, explicit error handling, testability and clear service boundaries.
  • Worked closely with product to turn ambiguous tickets into deterministic scenarios, preventing weak requirements from becoming brittle backend or UI behaviour.

Founder, Ready Technologies / Ready Fundaris

Jul 2024 – Present

London · Remote

  • Founded and built Fundaris, a self-service fund reporting and factsheet automation platform for asset managers.
  • Designed the product, architecture, database model, ingestion strategy, approval workflows and frontend user experience from first principles.
  • Built a platform using Golang, Laravel and Inertia/Vue with PostgreSQL, queued PDF generation, chart rendering, component caching and white-label solutions.
  • Designed flexible data ingestion and mapping flows for CSV and third-party API sources, enabling client-controlled reporting pipelines.

Senior Software Engineer (Contract), thinkmoney (Bank)

Jan 2024 – Jun 2024

Remote

  • Contributed to the launch of a new banking platform and mobile app on deadline, supporting a high-availability production release.
  • Architected a SAR microservice using Go Lambdas, DynamoDB, SST and AWS infrastructure, with role-based access and audit trails.
  • Designed secure APIs and operational workflows for regulated banking processes, balancing delivery speed with traceability and maintainability.

Engineer, Digital Brainwave / LNK7

2025 – 2026
  • Delivered end-to-end LNK7 product features across the Laravel backend and Vue/Inertia frontend, with PostgreSQL analytics data modelling for high-volume click tracking.

Contract Engineer, The Esports Hub (ESHUB)

2024 – 2026

Remote

  • Delivered end-to-end product features across Laravel, Vue 3, Inertia.js, Tailwind, Redis queues and PostgreSQL-backed workflows.

Software Engineer → Senior, Instinct Digital

Jul 2021 – Dec 2023

London / Remote

  • Built Go backend services and helped migrate core platform capabilities from legacy PHP to a more scalable service-oriented architecture.
  • Designed and implemented ETL pipelines for asset-management data from multiple sources, including Morningstar feeds and client third-party APIs.
  • Reduced data import times from hours to minutes by using Go concurrency to parallelise ingestion, transformation and validation workflows.
  • Worked across backend, frontend, data modelling and client-facing delivery for fund reporting, factsheet generation and digital fund-centre products.
  • Mentored engineers in idiomatic Go, testing practices and clearer service boundaries while developing deep asset-management domain knowledge.

Junior Business Analyst, Carlson Wagonlit Travel

Sep 2018 – Mar 2020

London

  • Worked on the Product Portfolio Management and Portfolio Governance team, using Microsoft Online, PowerBI and other tools to produce reports for upper management.
  • Automated project portfolio service and user onboarding workflows, reducing manual effort and improving operational consistency.

Highlights

  • Strong Go backend experience across REST APIs, serverless microservices, ETL pipelines, table-driven tests and concurrent processing.
  • Reduced asset-management data imports from hours to minutes using Go concurrency across ingestion and transformation pipelines.
  • Helped deliver a new Go Green platform supporting UK and Ireland operations, improving performance, maintainability and infrastructure cost profile.
  • Built secure serverless microservices in regulated banking contexts with auditable workflows and role-based access controls.
  • Product-minded engineer comfortable shaping requirements, challenging weak domain models and delivering across backend, frontend and UX/UI.
